About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and organised Legal Assistant to join a premier Insurance Law team in Melbourne. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive professional to provide high-level administrative support in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with senior solicitors and partners, handling a diverse portfolio of insurance matters including public liability, professional indemnity, and personal injury.
Key Responsibilities

Case Management: Assist solicitors with the end-to-end management of insurance files, including filing, archiving, and diarising key court dates.

Document Preparation: Draft and edit legal documents, including briefs to counsel, contracts, and affidavits.

Financial Administration: Manage billing processes, handle invoices, and ensure accurate time-recording for the team.

Client Interaction: Act as a primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, gathering information and providing timely case updates.

Evidence Gathering: Liaise with medical providers and third parties to obtain necessary documents and treaters’ reports.

Office Coordination: Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and ensure all legal procedures and confidentiality standards are strictly maintained.
About you

Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in an insurance legal support or insurance litigation role.

Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with practice management software.

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on providing high-quality customer service.
