The Opportunity
A leading plaintiff firm is seeking an experienced lawyer for their respected WorkCover practice.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with at least three years’ PAE in a WorkCover or Personal Injuries practice. Excellent technical skills, a commercial mindset and business development capability will be valued highly.
Working alongside an established partner, with almost two decades’ experience in the area, you will work on a range of WorkCover claims, enjoying excellent structures and supports at a firm which rewards performance with opportunity, progression and a generous bonus scheme.

About You
The ideal candidate will have;

Demonstrated experience in WorkCover, ideally in a plaintiff setting, although defendant experience will also be considered

At least 3 years’ PAE. More-experienced candidates are also encouraged to apply. The successful applicant can be considered for an Associate or Senior Associate position, commensurate with skills, experience & potential

Excellent technical skills: familiarity with relevant legislation (Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013 (Vic) (WIRC Act) and its predecessor, the 1985 Act); exposure to Serious Injury Applications, Common Law negligence claims and Statutory Entitlements

Business Development experience and an existing referrals network, while not essential, will be highly-regarded

Previous managerial, supervisory, mentoring or project leadership experience will be valued highly

An excellent attitude; work ethic, motivation, growth mindset, open to feedback and an appetite for learning
